SHAWNEE -- This week marks the end of the regular season for Oklahoma Baptist soccer with two home contests. The Bison (7-7-2, 6-2-2 GAC) first go against Southwestern Oklahoma State (4-9-3, 4-4-2 GAC) on Wednesday at 6 p.m. before their final match on Nov. 4 against Northwestern Oklahoma State (2-6-8, 1-3-5 GAC).
Saturday's match against Northwestern begins at 3 p.m. with the team honoring its seniors.
Bison Notes
● OBU won their last game at Ouachita, giving them a chance to clinch first place and the GAC regular season title this week.
● Should the green and gold defeat SWOSU on Wednesday, it would need just a Ouachita loss or tie at East Central to capture the conference's regular season crown.
● After last week's wins at Harding and Ouachita, the Bison moved their conference win total to six, besting last year's total of five.
●
Alanna Bloomingdale has remained at the top all season and has 11 points. She scored two goals last week, moving her total to five. That's tied for third in the league.
●
Kaylee Swaner has seven assists, one of which helped Bloomingdale score the winning goal versus Ouachita. It also has her as number one in the GAC for assists (7).
● Swaner also has the highest number of shots on-goal with 15. That mark is tied for fifth in the league.
●
Mia Pendleton has denied 66 shots this season which is number two in the GAC. Her six clean sheets are also tied for second.
● This year, OBU is the GAC leader in shots (13.50) and rank second in assists (14).
● In series history, the Bison are 7-10-4 against Southwestern and 20-2-2 versus the Rangers.
Southwestern Oklahoma State Notes
● The Bulldogs won their last contest against ECU (4-0). Their four goals tied a previous season high set on Oct. 11 against Northwestern.
● Elvira Gunnarsson has the highest number of goals, having scored five this season. That's a top-three mark in the GAC.
● Micaella Swain has five assists for the fall. She is second behind Swaner.
● Another offensive threat is Hannah Guiterrez who has 15 shots on target this year.
● Amelia Forsling has made 48 saves with a 0.750 save percentage. She is third in the GAC's saves-per-game bracket (4.36).
● As a team, SWOSU is third-best in the league in points (50) and goals (19).
● However, in their last match with OBU, the Bulldogs attempted just a single shot on goal and were held scoreless.
Northwestern Oklahoma State Notes
● The Rangers tied their last match against ECU by a 1-1 tally.
● Despite their 2-6-8 record, Northwestern has been very competitive lately, having tied three times while defeating Harding 2-1.
● Plus, in their last game versus the Bison, they shut out OBU despite being out-shot 24-6.
● Isabella McMillan leads in goals, having successfully made four this season.
● She has also been, by a wide margin, the leading shot-taker for the Rangers. She has 31 shots on goal, a mark that's tied for the GAC lead.
● No other Northwestern player has taken double-digit on-target attempts.
● Lily Anderson has added two assists to go along with three goals. Like McMillan, she has eight total points for NWOSU.
● Rachel Brown has collected 48 saves and her .800 save percentage is fourth-best in the GAC.
● History has not favored Northwestern when it has come to Shawnee. They are 2-11 against OBU, though, they did win last year 1-0.
