SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist women's soccer head coach
Mike White announced his resignation on Thursday after serving the Bison program since the 2008 season. He was OBU's head coach since the 2010 campaign, a span of 17 seasons.
"Mike has led our Women's Soccer program for the last 17 years (with three years as an assistant prior to moving to the Head Coach role) and has made an indelible mark on our program," Director of Athletics
Robert Davenport said.
"He is a gifted coach who led OBU through the transition from NAIA to NCAA Division II. He was the first of all our teams to qualify for the NCAA Division II Tournament. We wish him well as he pursues other opportunities and we hope for great things for Mike."
Over the course of 17 seasons, White was the Bison's winningest coach compiling a record of 157-126-36. He generated 10 winning campaigns, notched a school record for wins with 15 during the 2014, 2016, 2017 and 2018 seasons and led OBU to every GAC Tournament Championship match from 2017 through 2024. Plus, during the 2018 campaign, he guided the Bison to a 12-0-0 GAC record, the first program in conference history to go undefeated in league play.
Furthermore, White was a two-time GAC Coach of the Year and helped mentor four All-Americans, four GAC All-Decade Team honorees and more than 70 All-GAC selections.
A national search for the next leader of the Bison women's soccer program will commence immediately.
