Bison Double Up on GAC Awards

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Oklahoma Baptist's Asley Baker and Alanna Bloomingdale were named Great American Conference Players of the Week on Tuesday after the Bison dialed up two wins last week.

For Baker, a junior defender, it is her first career honor while for Bloomingdale, a senior forward, her second.

Last week, OBU earned a 3-1 win at Harding and a 1-0 shutout against Ouachita. Those victories moved the Bison into first place of the GAC.

Baker led a Bison defense which allowed just seven shots on goal to their opponents. The team's win against the Tigers, a 1-0 shutout, was OBU's sixth clean sheet of the year, second-most in the GAC.

As for Bloomingdale, she tallied a team-high two goals including the game-winner against Ouachita. Her performances boosted her season total to five goals and 11 points, both top-five marks in the league.

Baker, Bloomingdale and the rest of the Bison return to action on Wednesday at 6 p.m. against Southwestern Oklahoma State.
