SHAWNEE – Head Coach Jason Eaker and staff have announced the 2022-23 schedule for the Oklahoma Baptist men's basketball program.
Ticket information for the season will be announced at a later date.
The Bison finished last year with a 20-9 overall record, including a 17-5 mark in conference play. OBU concluded the regular season ranked No. 2 in the GAC standings, as 17 wins against league opponents was the most victories earned before entering the GAC tournament since joining Division II.
This year's schedule features seven non-conference games, including a date with Oral Roberts on November 19. The Great American Conference contests begins on December 1 with a trip to Weatherford for a matchup with Southwestern Oklahoma State.
Oklahoma Baptist will host 14 games inside the Noble Complex and will be on the road for 15 contests.
The Bison will begin their 2022-23 campaign on November 11 at the GAC/NSIC Conference Challenge in Wayne, Neb., against Northern Sun members Minnesota State University-Moorhead and Wayne State College. Last season, as host of the challenge, Oklahoma Baptist beat both squads by scores of 90-87 (2 OT) and 74-61.
Then OBU returns to Shawnee for the home opener versus Missouri Western State on November 17 before heading north to take on Oral Roberts.
The following week, the Bison return home for a November 22 contest against Washburn before playing West Texas A&M a couple of days after Thanksgiving on November 26.
On December 1, OBU will open its 22-game GAC slate in Weatherford, Okla., against Southwestern Oklahoma State. This year's conference schedule features 11 home games and 11 away contests.
The remaining GAC matchups inside the Noble Complex are as follows: Southeastern Oklahoma State (Dec. 10), Henderson State (Jan. 5), Ouachita Baptist (Jan. 7), Southwestern Oklahoma State (Jan. 19), Southern Nazarene (Jan. 23), Southern Arkansas (Jan. 26), Arkansas-Monticello (Jan. 28), Arkansas Tech (Feb. 9), Harding (Feb. 11), and East Central (Feb. 25).
On the road, the remaining GAC schedule has the Bison set for battles at East Central (Dec. 17), Harding (Jan. 12), Arkansas Tech (Jan. 14), Northwestern Oklahoma State (Jan. 21), Ouachita Baptist (Feb. 2), Henderson State (Feb. 4), Southern Nazarene (Feb. 13), Arkansas-Monticello (Feb. 16), Southern Arkansas (Feb. 18), and Southeastern Oklahoma State (Feb. 23).
Additionally, OBU will host Mid-America Nazarene on January 2 to wrap up the season's non-conference schedule.
This year's GAC Tournament is scheduled for March 2-5, while its destination has yet to be determined.
