No. 23 Bison Earn 78-74 Win at SWOSU

WEATHERFORD -- Oklahoma Baptist used a dominant night from Terry Coner Jr. and several timely second-half surges to grind out a 78–74 road victory over Southwestern Oklahoma State on Thursday at the Pioneer Event Center. The win moves the Bison to 8–1 overall and 2–1 in Great American Conference play.

Coner Jr. delivered one of his most efficient performances of the season, pouring in a game-high 26 points on 10-of-12 shooting while adding six rebounds, four assists and three steals. He set the tone early, scoring six of OBU's first eight points, and continued to answer every Southwestern push—none bigger than his layup with 1:45 left that rebuilt a three-point lead after the Bulldogs had clawed within one.

OBU held a narrow 34–31 edge at halftime, but the second half quickly turned into a track meet. Jackson Greene added 10 points and a team-high nine rebounds, while Joshua Udoumoh posted 10 points and eight boards, including a key tip-in that sparked a 12–0 Bison run to stretch the lead to double digits at the 8-minute mark.

Southwestern stayed alive behind hot perimeter shooting, knocking down 11 threes. Tobias Roland led the Bulldogs with 18 points, and Ty Frierson added 17—including a trio of free throws in the final minute that trimmed the deficit to three. But OBU converted at the line when it mattered, as Coner Jr. and Seth Grandberry combined for four straight free throws in the final 40 seconds to secure the win.

The Bison dominated the glass 44–37 and outscored SWOSU 42–20 in the paint, using their size and rebounding to control long stretches of play.

Also of note, Riley McGuirk and Christian Hodge provided some solid moments for OBU as each scored six points.

Next on the schedule is a home game with Southeastern on Dec. 13 at 7:30 p.m.
