OBU, HU Kick Off Three-Game Series

SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist (17-10, 6-4 GAC) will wrap up their seven-game week of action as they'll play host to Harding on Friday-Saturday at the Bison Softball Park. Friday's game is scheduled for a 5 p.m. start, while Saturday's doubleheader will begin at noon.

It will be the 21st all-time meeting between the two clubs, with Harding holding a 15-5 overall record.

Fans will be able to watch all games on OBUBison.com, accompanied by the play-by-play commentary of Todd Miller.

The Bison have won three out of four games played earlier this week, sweeping Newman on Tuesday and splitting two games with Fort Hays State on Wednesday.

OBU's victories were highlighted by incredible efforts from freshman Samantha Campos and pitcher Kayleigh Jones. Campos batted .643, slugged 1.071, and registered a team-best nine hits in the four-game stretch. Additionally, she recorded four RBIs and collected a home run.

Campos leads the Bison with a .390 batting average and totals 30 hits. She is slugging .662 and ranks second on the team in home runs (4). Meanwhile, Jones managed to rack up 28 strikeouts in three appearances.

The pitcher surrendered zero earned runs and collected three wins. She now has a 12-5 record, 151 strikeouts, and a 2.24 ERA. Earlier this week, Jones was tabbed the Wilson/NFCA Pitcher of the Week for her outings against East Central last weekend. She became the first Bison to garner the national recognition in program history.

Scouting the Bisons 

Harding enters the weekend with an 18-8 overall record, including a 7-4 conference mark. The Bisons are in a three-way tie for third place in the GAC with Arkansas Tech and Arkansas-Monticello.

HU is riding a three-game winning streak, sweeping Henderson State last weekend in Searcy. Harding outscored the Reddies 16-9 in the series.

The Bisons lead the GAC in batting avg. (.316), hits (237), and runs scored (152). Additionally, they've accumulated 45 doubles, nine triples, and 31 home runs.

Freshman Emma Curry holds the league's best batting average (.435) and leads her team with 22 RBIs. Nicole Shano ranks No. 2 in the nation for home runs (11) and is batting .402. Shano is also No. 2 in GAC for hits (37) and RBIs (25).

In the circle, Lily Tanski has made 14 appearances, resulting in a team-best 53 strikeouts and a 4.37 ERA. Megan Pistokache has earned a team-high seven wins in her 16 appearances and ranks second in strikeouts (34).
