SHAWNEE – The Oklahoma Baptist STUNT team earned two more victories on Saturday, defeating Texas Woman's University and Davenport at the Noble Complex.
OBU improved to 8-1 this season with the results.
Against the Pioneers, the green and gold notched a 21-0 victory and claimed its third straight conference championship. That result was also the third time this season that an opponent didn't record a point against OBU.
Then against a talented Panthers squad, the Bison dialed up an 18-8 win. Early on, OBU and Davenport were trading points, with the hosts holding a 5-4 advantage. After that, the Bison pulled away.
"We are so proud of how our team rallied to play great games today after a few days of no practice due to the weather," coach
Jessica Stiles said.
"Claiming the TWU game secured another conference championship for Bison STUNT and earning a win over a talented Davenport team is a great moment for our program," Stiles added.
"On top of the great wins, we were able to celebrate our senior class and receive our 2021 conference championship rings," Stiles concluded.
Tomorrow, the Bison will play Oklahoma State at 1 p.m. followed by a 3 p.m. game against Maryville.
