PITTSBURG, Kan. – The Oklahoma Baptist men's and women's track and field turned in a good showing on the first day of the Pittsburg State Gorilla Classic, posting seven top-10 finishes.
Freshman Kendalyn Stueve headlined OBU with a second-place finish in the pole vault, jumping 3.41m.
In the 600 meter run, Zoee Weaver set a new career-best, placing fourth after a 1:27:54 finish. Weaver's previous and team-best this season came at the Rumble in the Jungle Invitational, where she finished the event in 1:28.16.
Anisha Henderson rounds out the notable women's placings as she collected 10th (5.60m) in the long jump.
Freshman Marquez Cyrus came away with the highest finish in the men's action, leaping 1.88m in the high jump. Isaiah Willis placed 10th (6.78m) in the long jump, while Anthony Phillips earned 10th (4.42m) in the pole vault.
The Gorilla Indoor Classic continues at 11 a.m. Saturday.
