Fowler Doubles Up on Conference Honors

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – For the second consecutive week, Oklahoma Baptist senior forward Katie Fowler was selected as the Great American Conference's Offensive Player of the Week.

A native of Norman, Okla., Fowler is just the second Bison player to ever earn back-to-back weekly honors from the GAC. The last time that happened was during the 2018 season when Ruth King was selected on Oct. 2 and 9.

In matches last week at Southern Nazarene and at home against East Central, Fowler tallied a pair of goals and an assist. Against the Storm, she provided the equalizer in the 88th minute before boosting her season stats versus the Tigers with a first-half goal and assist.

To date, she has scored six times and provided two helpers for 14 points. Her half-dozen goals are one off the GAC lead while her 14 points also rank second.

Fowler and OBU have a key matchup at preseason favorite Southwestern Oklahoma State on Oct. 6. That match is set to start at 4 p.m.
