SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist had its way against the Harding University Lady Bisons on Thursday, winning 3-1 at the OBU Soccer Complex. With the result, the green and gold ran their record to 5-7-1 (4-2-1 GAC) while Harding dropped 1-9-3 (0-5-2 GAC).
Within the first 30 seconds of the game, Harding rushed OBU's defense. Thanks to an assist by Harding's senior Melissa Ventura, a lower-center goal by junior Briley-Anne Brown gave HU a leg-up on the Bison.
In the minutes that followed, OBU searched for an equalizing goal. A promising pass from the left, junior
Alanna Bloomingdale sought to assist senior
Katie Fowler in her shot, but thatx the ball missed high left.
Sophomore
Kelsey Price also attempted an assist to Fowler, but the shot was blocked by Harding's sophomore keeper Bethanie Dixon.
Finally at 29:44, a deflected ball came to Fowler from about 10 yards out and she scored in the low-center knotted the match at 1-1. After a few foot tricks, Fowler secured her spot as the MVP of the first with another goal in the high center, making OBU lead 2-1 in the final five minutes of the half.
The second half was primarily spent near Harding's goal. Ten shots were taken by numerous Bison in comparison to only one by Harding's Ventura. Included in the hosts' shots were

Though none of these attempts were fruitful, at 86:06, an assist by Fowler was finished off by sophomore
Jadynn Daggs. With this, the Bison secured a 3-1 win.
