PITTSBURG, Kan. – Freshman
Addison Brooks placed first in the 800m with a time of 2:15.97 to lead the Bison men's and women's track team at the Wendy's/Pittsburg State Invitational on Saturday.
Emma Downing earned the next highest place for the women's side, finishing 0.5 seconds off of first to collect second in the mile with a time of 2:15.97.
Taylor James placed third in the 400m dash in 56.81 seconds, rounding out the notables for the women in the running events.
In the field events,
Caitlin Mannon took fifth after throwing the hammer 15.30 meters while
Emily Julian earned fifth for jumping 3.63 meters in the pole vault.
In the men's action,
Zane Nutter leaped 1.93 meters in the high jump for third place while
Anthony Phillips took second (4.51m) in the pole vault.
Paul David Quillin also placed in the event, earning fifth place after jumping 4.36 meters.
Rounding off the placings in the jumping events was
Isaiah Willis, who took fourth in the long jump.
Sophomore
Christian Arenivar finished third in the 800m race at 1:55.22, while
Maxamillian Wheeler took sixth in the 5,000m (15:16.57 sec).
Oklahoma Baptist will return to action on Feb. 11 at the 7
th Annual Indoor Gorilla Classic in Pittsburg, Kansas.
