WACO, Texas – The Oklahoma Baptist University football team received 14 votes in the first AFCA DII Preseason Coaches' Poll released on Monday.
This is the first time in school history that an OBU football squad has received votes in any preseason poll.
The Bison stampeded through the Great American Conference in 2019 as they finished the season 7-4, while also completing the year undefeated (5-0) against in-state opponents.
Oklahoma Baptist returns a league-leading offense, led by senior quarterback
Preston Haire who threw for over 3,000 yards and 26 touchdowns in 2019.
Ouachita Baptist University (11th), Harding (22nd), and Henderson State University (RV) were among the other GAC schools mentioned in the AFCA's release.
Competition for the Bison starts September 2 on the road against Ouachita.
