Bison Earn Three Spots in 2021 NCAA Outdoor Championships

SHAWNEE – The NCAA announced selections for the 2021 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships on Tuesday afternoon with the Bison men's team earning three spots in this year's field.
 
Mahcoe Smith, Jax Holland, Marcus Petersen, and Shirvante Knauls were selected to participate in the 4x100 meter relay after posting their best time of the year, 40.65, at the West Texas A&M Last Chance Meet on May 16.
 
The Bison also earned a spot in the 4x400 meter relay as Knauls, Holland, Petersen, and Tarees Rhoden punched their ticket with a time of 3:10.59.
 
Rhoden earned the team's third selection in the 400 meter run with a time of 46.65 set at the West Texas A&M Last Chance meet. This time was also a new personal best for Rhoden, beating out his old time by 0.72 seconds.
 
The championship meet is scheduled for Thursday, May 27 to Saturday, May 29.
