Bison Dominate SNU to Clinch Berth in GAC Tournament

BETHANY, Okla. – The Bison offense flexed its muscles as OBU dominated the Southern Nazarene in the series opener, claiming a 15-5 victory. Oklahoma Baptist is now on a three-game winning streak and after its win today has officially claimed a berth in the 2021 Great American Conference Baseball Championship. 
 
Eric Carlson, Cliff Pradd, Hector Ruvalcaba, Kade Self, and Walker Keller all finished the game having earned at least a home run. Carlson led the way with two home runs, the first trip around the diamond, in the top of the second inning and the second in the top of the seventh. Ruvalcaba currently leads the Bison in home runs with 12 on the season. 
 
The Bison scored nine of their 15 runs in the fifth and seventh innings respectively. OBU scored five runs in the top of the fifth. The first run came off Pradd's lone home run of the day. He now has 10 home runs on the season. Ruvalcaba posted the second run of the inning when he hit an RBI single to left field. Ramon Enriquez then batted in Kaimana Bartolome with an RBI sacrifice fly to left field. The final two runs of the inning came off a Colin Prince RBI single and Cade Kissel's RBI sacrifice fly to center field. 
 
OBU was able to put away the Crimson Storm in the top of the seventh as Carlson, Self, and Keller combined for a total of four runs on three home runs.
 
Other top offensive performances include Keller and Ramon Enriquez. Keller not only chalked up a home run but finished with two RBIs and two hits. Enriquez also enjoyed some success, finishing with an RBI, two hits, and two doubles. 
 
OBU face off with SNU with a series on the line, on Saturday, May 1, as the two teams compete in a double header. First pitch is set for 12 p.m.
