DES MOINES, Iowa – The Oklahoma Baptist men's and women's track and field teams finished the Drake Relays with one event win and four top-three finishes. The Bison also broke two school records in the men's and women's distance medley relays.
The team of
Isabella Lotz,
Tahlor Brown,
Mary McKey, and
Elizabeth Jones brought home the win in the women's shuttle hurdles. The team finished the hurdles in 1:01.90, which was 1.65 seconds faster than Wartburg College.
In the women's distance medley relay, the Bison team consisting of
Tesa Potter,
Kayla McGruder,
Allison Derry, and
Emma Downing, placed second with a time of 11:56.20. The team beat-out Loras College by 19.70 seconds. This finish also broke the previous school record of 12:02.58.
Christian Arenivar,
Marcus Petersen,
Jarrett Ellis, and
Noah Eskew ran the men's distance medley relay with a time of 10:09.20. This time is also a school record, having bested the previous time of 10:12.20 by three seconds. They also placed third overall at the meet.
Other top-three finishes include the women's 400 meter hurdles and the men's 4x400 meter relay.
Mary McKey finished the 400 meter hurdles in second place with a time of 1:02.56.
Shirvante Knauls,
Jared Cheatwood,
Jax Holland, and
Tarees Rhoden completed the men's 4x400 meter relay in 3:12.52. This finish gave them second place overall.
The next event for the Bison track and field team is still to be determined.
