WEATHERFORD, Okla. – The Oklahoma Baptist baseball team closed out its series with Southwestern Oklahoma State with a split on Saturday afternoon in Weatherford. The Bison took game two, 12-9, after falling in game one 15-1.
In game two, the Bison offense came alive early, gaining a 2-1 advantage in the top of the third.
Kaimana Bartolome smashed a single into center field sending
Cade Kissel home.
Ramon Enriquez then followed up Bartolome's RBI with one of his own. He batted in
Kevin Saenz on a sacrifice fly to right field.

The Bison and the Bulldogs traded blows in the fourth inning with OBU coming up to bat in the top of the fifth with a 4-3 lead. In the fifth, the Bison put up six more runs to stretch their lead to seven.
Colin Prince got the fifth inning offense rolling when he put up a two RBI single to right field. This sent Enriquez and Bartolome home to give the Bison a 6-3 advantage. OBU then capitalized on five Bulldog miscues and extended the lead to 10-3.

SWOSU was able to bounce back in the bottom of the fifth, posting three runs of their own to cut the Bison lead to four. OBU then answered back in the top of the sixth and seventh, stretching their lead to 12-6.

In the bottom of the final inning, the Bulldogs attempted a rally, posting three more runs to bring the deficit to three. Bison pitcher
Tyler Frank, was not fazed and struck out Brooks Red beforeÂ
Kase Warner fielded the final out to seal the 12-9 Bison victory.

Prince led the day for the Bison posting two RBIs, and two hits in six at bats. Saenz put up the lone Bison home run in game one. On the pitching side,
Brett Biggs earned his first win of the season in game two, striking out three batters in 2.1 innings of work.

OBU will officially open its home portion of the season as the Bison welcome in East Central for a three-game series. First pitch of the series is set for Friday, March 12 at 6 p.m.
