WEATHERFORD, Okla. – The Oklahoma Baptist baseball team took the short drive to Weatherford and opened their third series of the season against Southwestern Oklahoma State. Unfortunately for the Bison their late inning rally came up just short as the Bulldogs took game one 6-5.

SWOSU got up early, taking a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the third. The Bison then answered back in the top of the fourth when
Walker Keller reached on a fielder's choice and posted an RBI when
Kaimana Bartolome to made it home. This cut the Bulldogs lead to two (3-1).

In the top of the fifth
Cade Kissel blasted an RBI double to left field sending
Kade Self home.
Colin Prince then followed up Kissel's hit with one of his own sending Kissel home. OBU closed out the fifth tied at 3-3.

The Bulldogs reclaimed the lead in the bottom of the sixth posting three straight runs. This extended the lead back to three (6-3).

The Bison then started to rally yet again a half inning later when Kissel posted his second RBI double of the game sending Self home. Prince then followed Kissel's RBI with a sacrifice fly which sent
Hector Ruvalcaba home. This cut the Bulldog's advantage to (6-5). The Bison were unfortunately unable to complete the rally falling to the Bulldogs 6-5.

Kissel and Prince led the Bison offense posting two RBIs each on four at bats.

OBU will continue the series against SWOSU on Saturday, March 6 with first pitch of the double header scheduled for 12 p.m.
