Bison STUNT Kicks Off New Season with Two-Day Home Event

SHAWNEE – The Oklahoma Baptist STUNT team finally opens its 2021 season as the Bison will welcome four different squads into the Noble Complex on Monday and Tuesday evenings.

"Our coaching staff is extremely proud of the grit and discipline our athletes have shown so far this season as we have navigated COVID-19," said head coach Jessica Stiles. "Our athletes have worked hard to work around any barriers placed in their way and are ready to take the mat this season."

The Bison come off an impressive 12-2 season in 2020, finishing ranked No. 3 in the country and falling to only No. 1 Davenport and No. 2 Alma in the regular season. OBU claimed a conference championship in 2020 with win overs Dallas Baptist, Texas Tech, Oklahoma State, and Texas-Tyler and look to repeat as champs later on in March.

OBU's 2020 season was cut short before the Bison had a chance to compete at nationals later in the spring. OBU returns several key performers from last season's squad and will kick off this new season with an incredibly strong and talented freshman class.

"We are looking forward to big things this STUNT season, starting with this tournament week," said Stiles.

The Bison open at 5:30 p.m. against DBU on Monday before taking on California Baptist later in the evening at 7:30. The following day, OBU will take on UCO at 5 p.m. before taking the floor against Oklahoma State at 8:30 p.m.
