CANYON, Texas – The Oklahoma Baptist baseball team fell in their season opener at West Texas A&M, 4-0, on Thursday evening. This was the first game for the Bison in 331 days, and the first game of a four-game series against the Buffaloes.
Â
OBU got off to a good start with pitcher
Jake Lipetzky striking out four batters and surrendering only one run and four hits in four innings of work. Unfortunately, the Bison were not able to answer the run the Buffaloes put up in the bottom of the third. Buffs Pitcher Zach Dixon walked three Bison batters in the top of the fourth, but Dixon was able to refocus and chalked up three straight outs. WT put the game away when Reese Patterson batted in two runs in the bottom of the fifth.
Â
Shortstop
Cliff Pradd led the Bison offense posting two hits.
Kaimana Bartolome,
Ramon Enriquez,
Cade Kissel, and
Colin Prince each posted a hit apiece.
Â
OBU will immediately return to action on Friday, Feb. 5 with a seven-inning double header against the Buffaloes. First pitch of the doubleheader is set for 1 p.m.
