SHAWNEE - The red hot Oklahoma Baptist softball team look to continue its great play as of late as they go into a four game series on the road in Arkadelphia against Ouachita beginning on Friday.
The Bison have won 11 of their last 15 games and currently hold a 7-1 record in the GAC after take three of four over Henderson State. OBU won the first two over the Reddies in convincing fashion before putting together a seven run seventh inning to come-from-behind and clinch the series in their home opener.
After going 8 of 9 at the plate on Saturday including the game-winning hit,
Kaytlyn Marsh continues her brilliant start to her Bison career as she is hitting .484 this season with five doubles, a homer, 14 RBI, and 13 runs.
Jadyn James has also been terrific, hitting .409 on the year with three home runs and 18 RBI.
Three other Bison are currently over .300 at the plate in
Kylie Kawamura, who is at .347 with four doubles, two homers, and 15 RBI,
Cheyenne Demaree who is hitting .315 with three homers and a team-leading 22 RBI, and
Emily Richardson, who is hitting .305 with two long balls and 13 RBI.
Sheyanne Sandoval has worked her way back into the lineup and is hitting .333 in eight games while
Emily Smith has three home runs.
Shelby Savage is tied for the team lead in runs with Kawamura at 19.
Katie Long is 4-2 on the season in the circle with a 3.97 ERA and 55 strikeouts while
Aspen Younce is 6-5 with a 4.83 ERA to go with 51 strikeouts.
Tiffany Williams is 1-0, earning her first win over Henderson, as she comes in with a 3.50 ERA int he early going.
Ouachita comes in at 2-16 oveall and 0-8 in the GAC, suffering two straight sweeps at the hands of Arkansas-Monticello and Southern Nazarene.
The Tigers only have one hitter over .300 so far this season in Kyndal Moyer, who is hitting .304 with a RBI. Madison Miller leads the team with three home runs to go with seven RBI while hitting 280. Ouachita has only driven in 30 runs on the season while hitting .229 as a team.
Faith Melton leads the Tigers in the circle despite an 0-4 record. Melton has the lowest ERA at 4.81 to go with 14 strikeouts. Madison Miller has a 6.05 ERA, but has the two lone wins for Ouachita as she sits at 2-6.
OBU will battle the Tigers at 2 and 4 p.m. on Friday and then come back on Saturday for a doubleheader beginning at 12 p.m.
