STUNT Wins Four to Move to First in Southwest Conference

DALLAS, Texas - The Oklahoma Baptist STUNT team moved into first place in the Southwest Conference after earning four wins throughout Saturday on the campus of Dallas Baptist.

The Bison defeated Oklahoma State (17-7), Texas Tech (19-10), Texas (18-9), and Texas-Tyler (21-1) to move to 7-2 overall on the season.

Against the Cowgirls, OBU took control after dropping a point and won the next three stunt rounds in the first quarter. They would follow with a dominant second quarter, taking all four pyramid rounds and cruising from there for the win.

Later that afternoon against the Red Raiders, the Bison got off to a hot start in the first quarter, claiming four of the four points possible and only allowing tech two points from two tied rounds.

It was more of an even second quarter as the Bison and the Raiders both won two points with OBU holding a 6-4 lead going into the next two quarters.

The third quarter would be the Bison's quarter and they gained control of the game by winning four of the four points possible, only allowing Tech one point from a tied round. OBU closed the final round with all three points to clinch the win.

OBU would return later that night against the Longhorns of Texas, again getting all to a great start in the first round by claiming all four points and only allowing Texas one point. However, Texas responded in the second round and cut into the deficit; however, OBU continued to lead 6-4.

The Bison regained momentum in the second half, taking home 12 points and holding the Longhorns to four to cruise to the impressive 18-9 victory to vault into first place in the SWC.

OBU closed their night with a perfect score of 21 as they rolled Texas-Tyler to a 21-1 victory.

The Bison will head to Oklahoma City next weekend to compete on the campus of Oklahoma City University.
