NORMAN, Okla. – The Oklahoma Baptist men's and women's indoor track teams had a good showing at the JD Martin Indoor Track Invitational at the University of Oklahoma. The Bison compiled four first place finishes, and one provisional NCAA Division Two qualifier. "NCAA Division One teams, Oklahoma State University, Oral Roberts University, North Texas, Louisiana Tech, California State-Bakersfield, and OU provided OBU with motivation to compete well and make a good showing," said Head Coach
Ford Mastin. "The teams are starting to show the ability to compete with quality competition. We believe the teams in attendance saw our Bison spirit, effort, and excellence."

On the women's side, the Bison earned three top place marks.
Cameka Witter won the 400 Meters with a time of 56.14, she overtook teammate
Taylor James by 1.76 seconds.
Nadia Mooreland finished fifth in the 400 Meters with a time of 59.76. The Bison took both the 4 x 400 Relay and the Distance Medley with times of 3:56.90 and 12:37.05 respectively.

Taylor James,
Sherine Van Der Westhuizen, and Witter were the athletes who participated in the 4 x 400 Relay.
Allison Derry,
Tizhane Brooks,
Emma Downing, and O'Connor were the Bison that participated in the Distance Medley Relay. In the 200 Meter, Dawnnae Chapman finished third with a time of 25.91, as did
Tesa Potter in the Mile with a time of 5:08.00, and Jana LeRoux was the final third place finisher in the 3000 Meter with a time of 10:36.92.

On the men's side,
Nathaniel Worley won the High Jump with a height of 2.08m which is a provisional NCAA division two qualifying height. Finishing in second place was
Brandon Crowley in the 60 Meter hurdles (8.07),
Shirvante Knauls in the 600 Yards (1:13.25),
Hayden Ashley in the High Jump (1.95m), and the Men's 4 x 400 Relay (3:18.39), which consisted of
Marcus Petersen,
Jax Holland,
Zachary Coak, and Knauls. The men's Distance Medley Relay team finished third (10:28.59), with
Garrett Elmore,
Jax Holland, Zack Coak, and
Noah Eskew running for the Bison.
Saleem Fadel finished fourth in the 35 Pound Weight Throw with a distance of 17.54m.

Up next both the men's and women's indoor track teams head to Pittsburg Kansas on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 14-15 to participate in Gorilla Classic.
