Bison Stumble in First Game of Series with Henderson State

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – The Oklahoma Baptist baseball team takes a game one loss to Henderson State 5-2. OBU struck first putting up two runs in the top of the fifth. However, the Reddies answered back and posted five unanswered runs. 
 
Jake Lipetzky pitched 6.0 innings for the Bison and finished his afternoon with a 2.20 ERA and struck out 10 batters. Joey Pledger led the Bison offense going 3-4 and posting a run. Cliff Pradd rounded out the scoring for the Bison with a run. Ramon Enriquez and Kaimana Bartolome both finished with an RBI. 
 
In the top of the fifth the Bison put up their two runs. Pledger led off the inning with a single to left field. Pradd then followed Pledger with a single of his own. Ramon Gomez then grounded out to third for a sacrifice bunt advancing the two runners. Enriquez then posted an RBI single sending Pradd to third and Pledger home. Bartolome then followed Enriquez's RBI single with one of his own sending Pradd home. Unfortunately for the Bison the Reddies answered back and took the game sealing 5-2 lead.
 
The Bison will look to regroup and take the series as they return to action Saturday, Feb. 29 with a double header. First pitch is set for 12:00 p.m.
