Bison Extend Win Streak to Four as They Take Down Riverhawks

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. – The Oklahoma Baptist baseball team extended their win streak to four. The Bison took down Northeastern State in a one-off Monday afternoon meeting 7-3. OBU has gotten off to an impressive 8-2 start to the season and currently sits second in the Great American Conference.
 
Bo Dallas got the win and brings his season record to 2-0. He pitched 5.0 innings and faced down 23 batters. Dallas only gave up one earned run, five hits, and struck out three batters. Jesus Chavez also saw some action on the mound. He pitched for 3.0 innings and struck out three of the 12 batters he faced.
 
Kaimana Bartolome led the Bison offense going 2-5 and scored two runs, one of which was a home run. He batted in one runner and chalked up four assists. Cliff Pradd and Logan Coe both posted a hit and two RBIs. Pradd also hit a home run. Ramon Gomez, Eric Carlson, Cade Kissel, and Joey Pledger all round out the scoring for the Bison with a run each. Gomez and Kissel both put up an RBI.
 
OBU opened up the scoring with a Gomez home run to left field to take an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first. Pradd then added to the lead when he hit a home run to left field in the top of the third to. His home run batted in Pledger who had made it on base when he singled to right center. Bartolome then followed Pradd's home run with one of his own when he slammed one out of center field. This gave the Bison a 4-0 lead. The Riverhawks then made the game interesting when they put up two runs in the fifth. Blake Freeman got the Riverhawks on the board when he hit an RBI single and batted in two of his teammates. OBU did not slow down however, posting a three-run eighth inning. Bartolome opened the eighth when he singled down the left side. Carlson then got on base when he was hit by a pitch. Kissel then singled to the left side batting in Bartolome and advancing Carlson to third. Coe then capped off the scoring for the Bison when he hit single to center field sending Carlson and Kissel home to put up the game sealing sixth and seventh run.
 
The Bison now return home as they open home Great American Conference play. OBU will welcome in Northwestern Oklahoma State, with first pitch coming Friday, Feb. 21 at 6 p.m.
