SHAWNEE – After more than a week off, Oklahoma Baptist women's lacrosse returns to action on Saturday, April 6 when they take on long-time rival Midland at 11 a.m. at the OBU Lacrosse Complex. It's the first meeting between the two teams since the 2016 season.
Fans are encouraged to wear blue in support of the Oklahoma Baptist swimming and diving teams as they mourn the loss of legendary Bison coach Dr. Sam Freas.

SCOUTING THE WARRIORS
- Midland had a delayed start to their season, but have started off 0-2 with losses to Clarke and Benedictine this week
- Masey Jay leads the Warriors with four goals on four shots. Danielle Wills and Megan Collins have also found the back of the net once each for Midland
- Midland's offense is averaging just 7.0 shots/game this year, led by Collins' five shots
- The Warriors defense is giving up 40.5 shots/game, with opponents putting 81.5 percent of their attempts on goal. Katherine Kihm has played the most minutes in goal for Midland this season, posting a 17.84 goals-against average and .283 save percentage
- Midland has struggled early at the center circle, with opponents enjoying a 45-11 advantage in the category. Collins leads Midland with five draw controls this season

- This is the seventh all-time meeting between Oklahoma Baptist and Midland, making Midland OBU's longest-tenured opponent in program history
- Saturday will serve as a tiebreaker as the series sits level at 3-3. Midland won each of the first three meetings before OBU won the last three. Oklahoma Baptist head coach Jordan Beech is 1-0 against Midland
- The last time OBU faced Midland, the Lady Bison emerged victorious, 19-9, on the road in Fremont, Nebraska. Alexis Martin and Allison Ingrim combined for 15 goals on the day

- Oklahoma Baptist is 2-1 against nonconference opponents this season, and a win on Saturday would guarantee a winning record outside the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference
- Heading into Saturday's contest, junior Lauren McCormack is just six points shy of becoming OBU's first career 100-point scorer. She currently leads the team with 23 goals and seven assists on the year, and has career totals of 62 goals and 32 assists
- With an assist against Adams State, Savannah Tompkins moved into the top 10 in career assists
- Taylor Skomp has 17 goals this season, including the game-winning goal in each OBU win this season. With one more game-winning goal she'll own the career mark, breaking a tie with Hannah Dowell
- The Lady Bison are currently averaging 10.75 goals/game, the best goals/game mark since coach Beech took over the program, and the second-highest average in program history
- OBU currently ranks sixth in Division II in ground balls/game with 27.25. Madison Gordon has a team-high 31, followed by McCormack with 25
- McCormack ranks second in the country with an average of 10.13 draw controls/game. The Lady Bison enjoy a plus-27 advantage in total draw controls this season
