Win Streak at Nine After Sweep of SNU

BETHANY, Okla. – The Bison extended their winning streak to nine games, finishing off the series sweep of rival Southern Nazarene with a pair of road wins Saturday.

In game one, Jake Lipetzky took a no-hitter into the eighth inning as OBU shut out the Crimson Storm, 9-0.

Lipetzky surrendered just one hit, a single with one out in the eighth, and finished with 13 strikeouts in 7.2 innings of work. Caleb Bly came on in relief to finish off the victory for OBU.

Ramon Enriquez drove in four, going 3-5 at the plate with two doubles and a home run to power the OBU offense. Jake Gozzo and Joey Pledger each collected a pair of RBI as Gozzo blasted a two-run homer in the fifth.

In the nightcap, OBU used a three-run outburst in the top of the seventh to break a 2-2 tie and secure its 20th conference win of the season. Gozzo added his second home run of the day, a two-run shot that scored Austin Cooper, before an Eric Carlson RBI double gave the Bison their final margin.

Hudson Pearson picked up the win in relief of starter Andrew Eppenbach, while Shane Kelso was credited with a five out save.

Based on tonight's results from around the league, OBU secured its place in the GAC Tournament, May 4-7 at David Allen Ballpark in Enid, Oklahoma.
