SHAWNEE – Four members of the Oklahoma Baptist men's basketball team earned recognition from the Great American Conference at the league's awards presentation Wednesday night. The Bison award winners were headlined by
Antonio Wade, who was selected as the GAC Newcomer of the Year.
Wade, a 6-1 guard from Marietta, Ga., joined OBU for his senior season after playing previously at Young Harris College.
At OBU, Wade led the team in points per game (16.1), assists (145) and steals (32). He scored in double figures in 25-of-28 games including a season-high 36 in a win against Northwestern Oklahoma State.
In addition to Newcomer of the Year, Wade was selected to the second team all-conference list.

Two other Bison,
Harrison Stoddart and
Dishon Lowery, were voted to the honorable mention list.
Stoddart, a sophomore from Edmond, averaged 11.9 points per game and was team's most accurate three-point (41.5%) and free throw shooter (82.8).
Lowery, a 6-7 junior forward from St. Louis, finished as the team's leading rebounder and was second in the conference at 8.0 boards per game.
Additionally,
Tyler Lester was among 10 men's basketball players selected as a Distinguished Scholar Athlete by the league. Lester, a senior from Tuttle, will graduate in May with a degree in business and a 3.78 GPA.
OBU, in its first year under coach
Jason Eaker, finished the regular season with a 15-13 record. The Bison earned the third seed in the upcoming GAC Tournament and will play sixth-seeded East Central in Bartlesville on Friday at 8 p.m.
