Baseball Finishes Off Reddies, 6-2

SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist added to its growing list of baseball wins beating visiting Henderson State, 6-2. The game concluded a three-game series in which the Bison won two-of-three.

OBU, now 10-7 overall and 6-3 in the Great American Conference, will next play Central Oklahoma in a single, nine-inning game Tuesday in Edmond weather permitting. First pitch is set for 5 p.m.

OBU scored four runs in its half of the eighth breaking open a 2-2 tie. Jake Gozzo led off with a single then scored the winning run on an RBI double by Ramon Enriquez to put OBU in front to stay. The Bison added three more on an RBI single by Brett Bloomfield and a two-run double by Brock Carter.

Jesus Chavez pitched well for the Bison in his start. He scattered eight hits over seven innings and struck out six batters. Only one of his two runs were earned.
