ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Oklahoma Baptist bounced back after an earlier loss for a 6-1 win over Ouachita Baptist in a baseball game at Arkadelphia, Ark. The second-game victory allowed the Bison to gain a split in the Sunday doubleheader after losing the first game, 7-5. The two teams conclude the three-game series with a single, nine-inning game Monday. First pitch is set for 12 noon.
In game two,
Ramon Enriquez put the Bison up early with a three-run homer that scored
Jake Gozzo and
Garrett McKee in front of him in OBU's first at bat. The blast was Enriquez's fourth of the year.
Ouachita scored its only run in the fourth off starter
Shane Kelso before A.J. Merkel pitched the final three and two-thirds innings to pick up the win in relief.
The Bison added to their margin with a two-run double by McKee in the sixth who later scored on a sacrifice fly by Gozzo.
In the opener, the Bison were limited to five hits with McKee having the best game at the plate with two hits and three RBIs.
Jake Lipetzky took the loss on the mound for OBU after being lifted in the fourth inning.
