CLEBURNE, Texas – Oklahoma Baptist held Texas A&M-Kingsville hitless through seven-plus innings but critical errors and costly walks were too much to overcome as the Bison lost 3-2.
OBU, now 2-4 on the year, lost 6-2 to Newman University earlier in the day. The Bison will play its fourth and final game in the Alpine Fresh 4-Him Classic when they meet East Central. First pitch is set for Saturday at 10 a.m. in Cleburne, Texas.

Against TAMUK, OBU starter
Jake Lipetzky no-hit the Javelinas for five innings and allowed only a third-inning run that was a result of an error.
Caleb Bly then pitched an inning-and-a-third in relief but walked the first three batters he faced in the seventh. TAMUK scored twice off the walks and kept its 3-2 cushion through the remaining two innings.
OBU outhit TAMUK 8-1 with
Joey Pledger and
Brock Carter each having two hits. OBU's runs came in the third when P.J. Harris plated Carter and
Jake Gozzo with a one-out double.
Against Newman, OBU managed just six hits against two different pitchers. Harris had singles in the fourth and eighth that scored the Bison runs.
