Southern Nazarene Tops Bison in Bethany

BETHANY – Oklahoma Baptist ran up against a red-hot basketball team losing 102-62 to nationally-ranked Southern Nazarene Thursday in Bethany.

The 40-point margin was the Bison's biggest most lopsided loss this season. OBU still remains in good shape as the regular season draws to a close in the coming weeks. The Bison are 12-11 overall and 11-6 in the Great American Conference. OBU remains in third place in the league standings but share the spot with East Central and Southeastern Oklahoma.

The Bison will next play Saturday at East Central. Tipoff is set for 3 p.m. at the Kerr Center in Ada.

Julian Daughtry had a season-high 21 points while Antonio Wade added 20 for the Bison. OBU was held to its second-lowest point total of the year. SNU held OBU to 57 points in a one-point win last month in Shawnee.

SNU led for 38 of the game's 40 minutes. Their biggest lead was at the buzzer when the margin reached 40.

OBU finished the game making 22-of-57 shots for 39 percent. The Bison made just two-of-19 from three-point distance for 11%. SNU was 32-of-60 for 53 percent and 11-of-20 (55 percent) from three-point distance.

SNU finished with 40 rebounds, 13 more than OBU. Dishon Lowery had seven to lead the Bison.
