PITTSBURG, Kan. – The Oklahoma Baptist University women's basketball team opened their season with a tough loss to Pittsburg State 96-78. This was the first game of the GAC-MIAA challenge.

The Bison started the game very strong having taken a 50-45 halftime lead. At the half two players already reached double digits.
Kalifa Ford went in having gone 5-8 with 12 points scored overall.
McKenzie Cooper led the team with a first half total of 26 points.

Unfortunately for the Bison the Gorillas came out in the second half and made some big adjustments. OBU was outscored 51-28 in the second half.

Overall three players finished in double figures. Cooper, Ford, and
Jaylin Stapleton finished with 28,16, and 16 respectively.

Mikayla Shulanberger finished with a team leading six rebounds and Stapleton finished with a team leading three assists.

Up next for OBU is Washburn tomorrow at 5 p.m. as they continue the GAC-MIAA Challenge.
