SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist men's soccer returns for their penultimate home weekend as they host Northeastern State and Rogers State in a pair of Great American Conference matches for homecoming weekend.
Northeastern State will visit OBU on Thursday, Oct. 24 at 7:30 PM, while OBU welcomes Rogers State to Bison Hill on Saturday, Oct. 26 for a 7 PM contest.
The Bison currently sit in seventh in the GAC standings on seven points after completing the season sweep of Ouachita Baptist last weekend. Northeastern State and Rogers State enter the week tied for third place with 15 points apiece.
Averaging 17.6 shots/match, the Bison lead the GAC in the category this season but rank just fourth with 1.9 goals/match.
Alejandro Castillo and
Hebert Lima are tied for the team lead with five goals each with
Peterson Costa right behind them with four goals this season.
Luis Romero has been a creative hub after returning to Bison Hill for his fifth year of eligibility, generating a team-best three assists.
Defensively, OBU allows opponents 17.2 shots/match, with just over 46 percent of those shots put on-frame.
Parker Lawter and
Elias Diaz have split the season in goal for the Bison, combining for a 3.05 goals-against average and 63 saves.
The RiverHawks enter Thursday's contest averaging 15.4 shots/match and 1.6 goals/match. Flynn Semmerling leads NSU with eight goals, while Ben Watson has four to his credit. Justin Hinman boasts a 1.2 GAA and has saved over 70 percent of the shots he's faced this season.
Rogers State boasts the league's best offense with an average of 2.31 goals/match; nearly every goal RSU has scored this year has been assisted. Jake Simpson is second in the GAC with 12 and Jordan Watson is tied for sixth in the league with five. In goal, Austin Wormell boasts a league-best 1.1 GAA and .800 save percentage.
