SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist's unbeaten string ended Saturday with a 31-7 loss to Arkansas Tech at Crain Family Stadium at the Hurt Memorial Athletic Complex.

Preston Haire fought for 243 passing yards despite dealing with an arm injury and five dropped passes. He was 31 of 52 but misfired for three interceptions.

Haire completed a touchdown pass to
Jacques Henderson in the back of the end zone in the fourth quarter to break up the shutout.

Arkansas Tech scored 17 points in the first quarter and led 24-0 by halftime. The Wonder Boys used four OBU turnovers to help send the Bison to their first loss after the Herd had opened with two wins.

OBU started its lone scoring march with 6:45 left in the game. The 14-play drive featured a 10-yard pass from Haire to Cornell, a 15-yard Haire-to-Roberson connection.

Facing fourth and 15, Haire passed to
Abel Wills for a 20 yard gain to the four, setting up the touchdown pass to Henderson.

OBU was out-gained 423 to 334 with the Bison adding 91 yards rushing.
Tyler Stuever ran for 39 yards and
Darrian Moss tacked on 33. Haire rushed for 24 yards.

Cagney Roberson hauled in six passes for 38 yards while
Joshua Cornell led with 54 receiving yards. Nine different Bison caught passes.

Felipe Alvear and
Josh Arnold had 13 tackles apiece to lead the defense.
Matthew Tigert had two stops behind the line with
Taurean Smith getting one – a quarterback sack.
Robert Lolofie and
Ashton Vickers also combined for a sack.

Vickers also blocked a field goal attempt.

OBU takes a 2-1 record on the road next week, visiting Harding in Searcy, Arkansas, for a 6 p.m. kickoff.
