DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Oklahoma Baptist went 1-1 on Friday at the Bahama House Labor Day Classic, sweeping Bentley 3-0 (25-19, 25-20, 25-17) before dropping a decision to Eckerd College 3-0 (21-25, 19-25, 28-30).

In the first match,
Jenna Gremmel did well to set up three of her teammates for 10 or more kills in the match against Bentley, with
Mikayla Watson leading the way with 11 kills.
Malia Leatherland and
Nicole Fleitman each had 10 kills, with Leathlerland hitting an efficient .294 for the match.

The Lady Bison defense Eckerd to a miserly .064 hitting percentage, with four OBU players reaching double figures in digs.
Mikayla Watson led the way with her second double-double of the season, adding 23 digs to her 11 kills, while Gremmel also had a double-double by collecting 17 digs.
Delayna Mills and
Hayden Blair had 17 and 11 digs, respectively.

The dominant offense of the first match was stymied in the second of the day, with OBU hitting just .088. Leatherland had a team-leading 10 kills, followed by Watson and Fleitman with eight kills apiece. Gremmel finished the match with 18 assists. On the defensive side, Mills was kept busy while picking up a match-best 20 digs.

Oklahoma Baptist (3-4) returns to the court tomorrow for the second day of action at the Bahama House Classic when they take on Florida Tech at 2 p.m. and host Embry-Riddle at 6 p.m.
