Lady Bison Knock Off Southwest Baptist, 3-1

STEPHENVILLE, Texas – Oklahoma Baptist improved to 2-0 Friday with a 3-1 win over Southwest Baptist in the Tarleton Invitational.
 
The Lady Bison won 20-25, 25-16, 25-16, 25-20.
 
Mikayla Watson registered 19 kills with a .383 hitting percentage while Malia Leatherland collected 11 kills and Rachel Richie eight. Watson also had three aces with Richie and Jenna Gremmel posting two aces each.
 
Gremmel had 37 assists.
 
Defensively, Delaynia Mills had 21 digs and Watson added 10. OBU blocked seven attacks with Brecken Roquemore getting four block assists and Nicole Fleitman getting in on three, including a solo.
 
OBU plays host Tarleton State at 11:30 a.m. and Texas A&M-Commerce at 4:30 p.m., Saturday, to round out the Texas trip.
