Bison Qualify for Outdoor Championships

SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist qualified in two events for the 2018 NCAA Division II Men's Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
 
Five Bison athletes will head to the championships in Charlotte, North Carolina at the Irwin Belk Complex. Johnson C. Smith University will serve as the host of the championships.  
 
A relay team featuring Sayvon Milton, Dillon Phillips, Carlos James and Shirvante Knauls will compete in the 4x400-meter relay after qualifying with a time of 3:11.74, which ranks No. 18 this year.
 
Saleem Fadel will compete in the hammer throw after registering the No. 19 distance at 195' 6" (59.60 meters).
 
This marks the first NCAA postseason qualification for the program in the first year of eligibility for OBU. The meet will start on May 24 and wrap up May 26.
