SHAWNEE – Five Oklahoma Baptist women were named to the 2018 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field All-Central Region team, the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced.

All-Region honors are awarded for posting a top-five individual finish in each of the eight regions in addition to each member of a top-three relay team in the region. This season marks the first for OBU athletes to be eligible for the distinction.

A relay team including Breanna Hurlbut, JoziRose Mayfield, McKae Mitchell and Sherine Van Der Westhuizen earned All-Region status in the 4x400-meter relay. They set the No. 8 time in the country in 3:42.03 at the Drake Relays. Mayfield, Mitchell and Van Der Westhuizen were also named All-Region in the indoor season for the 4x400 relay.
