MAGNOLIA, Ark. – (
Results) Oklahoma Baptist finished runner-up Saturday at the Great American Conference Men's Track & Field Championships at the Mulerider Track and Field Complex.

OBU finished with 166 points in the first GAC championship the Bison were eligible to score. Southern Arkansas claimed the title with 191.5 points and Harding finished third at 148.5 points. Rogers State (52) placed third, East Central (42) was fifth, Oklahoma Christian (39) finished sixth and Southern Nazarene (11) rounded out the field in seventh.

The Bison won three total events at the meet, including two on the final day of competition.

Saleem Fadel claimed his second individual championship of the meet in the shot put with a throw of 51' 6.9" (15.72 meters).
Jacob Cochran also scored in the shot put, finishing fourth at 49' 2.16" (14.99m). Fadel won the hammer throw Friday with a GAC record distance of 118' 11.3" (57.59m).

Spencer Lashley won the pole vault by clearing 14' 5.25" (4.40m) and
Hayden Ashley finished runner-up at 13' 11.25" (4.25m).
Luke Cusack placed fifth with a height of 12' 11.5" (3.95m).

The Bison opened up the running events with a second place finish in the 4x100-meter relay. A team of
Micah Brewer,
Sayvon Milton,
Clayton Honeycutt and
Devontrae Young finished in 41.66 seconds.

In the 110-meter hurdles,
Brandon Crowley finished fourth in 15.72 and
Cayden Spain placed sixth at 16.35. Spain also finished fifth in the 400-meter hurdles in 55.52 seconds.

Nathan Crowson finished third in the 1500-meter run with a time of 3:59.54.

Three Bison scored in the 400-meter run, paced by a second place finish from Milton in 48.45.
Shirvante Knauls was third at 49.33 and Honeycutt placed sixth in 49.95.

Carlos James finished second in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:57.04 and Elliott Parker took fourth in 1:57.58.

Young placed sixth in the 200-meter run, finishing in 22.22 seconds.

Jacob Janzen finished third in the 5000-meter run in 15:02.17.

A team of Milton,
Dillon Phillips, James and Knauls wrapped up the running events with a second place finish in the 4x400-meter relay, meeting a provisional qualifying mark at 3:13.85.

Hayden Ashley was second in the javelin throw at 174' 10.03" (53.29m) and
Andrew Worley took third with a distance of 165' 1.1" (50.32m) to open up the day Saturday. The javelin was originally scheduled for Friday but was postponed due to darkness. Ashley also finished fourth in the long jump at 21' 5.87" (6.55m).

OBU had a strong outing in the high jump, led by a third place finish from
Nathaniel Worley at 6'4" (1.93m).
Andrew Worley finished fourth at 6'4" (1.93m) and Ashley was fifth after clearing 6'2" (1.88m).

The Bison will continue the outdoor season at the Drake Relays, beginning April 27.
