SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist is set to compete Thursday in the first Great American Conference Track & Field Championships since completing the transition process to NCAA Division II.

Southern Arkansas is the host school for the meet and all events will take place at the Mulerider Track and Field Complex in Magnolia, Arkansas. OBU has competed in the GAC postseason track meet the last two seasons but were unable to count their scores due to their provisional status in the conference.

Competition will last from Thursday through Saturday, beginning with five decathlon events on Thursday at 2 p.m. Friday opens with the conclusion of the decathlon at 10 a.m. and field events will begin at 1:30 p.m. The distance races will close the day at 6:30 p.m. Friday. Saturday's schedule includes field events starting at 10 a.m. and running events at noon.

Bison men have met three NCAA Division II provisional qualifying marks and won 24 events in three outdoor meets this spring.
