SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist got solid pitching for a 4-2 win and a Great American Conference series sweep over East Central Saturday at Bison Field at Ford Park.
Caleb Bly (5-1) allowed two runs – one earned – over eight innings while striking out 11 batters.
Thomas Shroder got his first save of the season with a spotless ninth inning.
OBU scored in the first inning on a sacrifice fly by
Josh Timms.
The Bison added two in the second on a two-run home run by
Matt Poulin to make it 3-0.
ECU scored an unearned run in the third.
Gonzalez singled in a run in the eighth for a 4-2 Bison lead.
OBU had four hits in the game, led by Berghammer with two.
Now 23-14 overall and 16-9 in the GAC, the Bison complete their season series with a makeup game against East Central Tuesday at 6 p.m. in Shawnee.
