SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist got three home runs and 10 RBIs by
Zane Gelphman in a pair of 13-5 wins over East Central Friday at Bison Field at Ford Park.

OBU took the first game from the outset, scoring six runs in the first inning.
Â
Zane Gelphman had a two-run triple.
Josh Timms added an RBI ground out,
Matt Poulin added an RBI double and
Brett Berghammer singled in two runs with his second hit of the inning.

OBU added three more in the second with a two-run home run by Gelphman and a solo home run by
PJ Harris.
Â
The Bison scored three in the fourth with a two-run triple by Berghammer and an RBI single by
Brett Bloomfield.

The final OBU run crossed in the sixth on an RBI single by
Juan Gonzalez.
Â
The Bison had 16 hits in the game, led by Berghammer with four. Gonzalez added three and Gelphman, Timms and Poulin had two apiece.

Mychal Yarbor got the win, going five innings and striking out four batters.
Andrew Eppenbach and
Hudson Pearson threw two scoreless innings each.

OBU was behind for a short while in the second game. The Bison tied the game in the first inning on an RBI ground out by Gonzalez.

OBU scored three in the third to knot the score at 4-4 on two-run triple by
Jake Gozzo, with Gozzo scoring on an error.

The Bison added three in the fourth to take a 7-5 lead on a three-run home run by Gelphman.

OBU scored four times in the fifth on an RBI double by Berghammer and yet another three-run home run by Gelphman. Gelphman now has 14 home runs on the season.

The Bison collected two in the sixth on a home run by
Garrett McKee.

OBU had 12 hits in the game, led by Berghammer with another four, three by Gelphman and two by Gozzo.

Gozzo hit safely in both games to extend his record to an OBU NCAA-era best 16 games.

Zach Fowler (6-3) got the win, going six innings and
Thomas Shroder fanned three in a scoreless seventh.

The teams complete the conference series Saturday with a 2 p.m. game.
