SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist will send five athletes to compete Friday and Saturday at the NCAA Division II Women's Indoor Track and Field Championships in Pittsburg, Kansas.

All championship events will take place on the campus of Pittsburg State at the Robert W. Plaster Center. This marks the first year OBU is eligible for NCAA postseason competition, but the Lady Bison have a long history of championship success. Women's track and field is the most decorated program on Bison Hill with 12 total national championships while competing in the NAIA and NCCAA.

OBU qualified in two events, the 5000-meter run and the 4x400-meter relay.
Abby Hoover will compete for the Lady Bison in the 5000 after posting the No. 13 time in the country this season at 16:54.81. A team of
Kya Barnes,
JoziRose Mayfield,
Sherine Van Der Westhuizen and
McKae Mitchell posted the 11
th-fastest time in the 4x400 at 3:45.81 to earn a trip to the postseason.

The women's 5000 is set for a 6:15 p.m. start on Friday and the women's 4x400 relay is the final event of the championships at 8 p.m. Saturday.
