Bobby Cox has 1,324 wins coming into the series – a total equal to that of NCAA Division II record-holder Mike Matheny, formerly of Southeastern Oklahoma State. Cox will not be recognized by the NCAA for the record because of OBU's long-time affiliation with the NAIA.
