SHAWNEE – After spotting Northwestern Oklahoma State five runs, Oklahoma Baptist rallied furiously and took a 15-5 mercy rule decision in seven innings Friday.

The Rangers scored five times on four hits and two errors in the top of the first inning but couldn't carry a lead into the second inning as OBU answered with six in the bottom of the first.

Brett Bloomfield singled and took second on a wild pitch.
Zane Gelphman produced a two-out RBI single to start the scoring.
Josh Timms walked before
PJ Harris unleashed a three-run home run to center to make it 6-5.

Jake Gozzo reached on an infield single and
Matt Poulin pulled a home run to left for the 6-5 lead.

The Bison scored two more in the third when Harris singled and eventually scored on a bases-loaded walk to
Brett Berghammer.
Juan Gonzalez added an RBI single for the 8-5 lead.

OBU plated five in the fourth on an RBI fielder's choice by Gozzo, an RBI double by
Garrett McKee and a two-run single by Berghammer. Another run scored on a balk.

The last two runs crossed in the sixth with an RBI walk by Bloomfield and a sacrifice fly by Gonzalez.

OBU had a dozen hits in the game, led by Berghammer, Harris, Poulin and McKee with two apiece.

Yarbor (4-2) went six innings, allowing five runs (two earned) and striking out nine batters.
Andrew Eppenbach threw a hitless seventh inning.

The Bison are 18-12 overall and 11-8 in the Great American Conference.

The teams finish the series with a 1 p.m. doubleheader Saturday.
