Bison Track Picked Second in Preseason Poll

SHAWNEE – Great American Conference coaches selected Oklahoma Baptist to finish second in the men's track and field preseason poll, announced the conference office Thursday.
 
Bison men picked up 33 points in the poll, including three first place votes. This will be the first season that OBU is eligible to compete for the GAC Championship as full members of NCAA Division II.
 
Harding narrowly edged the Bison in the poll and are selected first with 34 points, earning the remaining four first place votes. Southern Arkansas is third in the poll with 25 points, Rogers State is picked fourth at 20 points and Oklahoma Christian earned 18 points at fifth.
 
Southern Nazarene (10 points) and East Central (7) rounded out the poll.
 
OBU began the outdoor season by hosting the OBU Early Outdoor Invitational Thursday at Hurt Memorial Track.
