ADA – Oklahoma Baptist routed East Central 17-3 in a non-conference game Tuesday.

OBU began the game with a three-run first inning.
Brett Berghammer singled, took second on a wild pitch and scored on a double by
Zane Gelphman. Gelphman scored on a base hit by Juan Gonzales and
Jake Gozzo plated a run with a fielder's choice.

After ECU cut the lead to 3-2, OBU added five runs in the fifth.
Josh Timms scored on a wild pitch, Gozzo added a two-run single and Berghammer and
Brett Bloomfield followed with RBI ground outs.

The Bison added nine more in the sixth on a two-run double by Gozzo and a two-run single by
Garrett McKee. Two more runs came in on an error before
Austin Cooper doubled in another. Another two runs scored on an outfield error.

OBU had 16 hits in the game, including four by Berghammer and two each by Gelphman, Gonzalez, Gozzo, McKee and
Brock Carter.

Andrew Eppenbach went four innings, striking out four and allowing two runs to get the win.

Thomas Shroder pitched two scoreless innings of relief and
Hudson Pearson logged a scoreless frame also.

OBU heads to Searcy, Arkansas, for a weekend series with Harding. The teams play Friday at 6 p.m. and finish Saturday with a noon doubleheader.
