SHAWNEE –
Caleb Bly struck out 11 batters over five scoreless innings of relief to give Oklahoma Baptist an 8-4 win over Ouachita Baptist to complete the series sweep Sunday.

Bly (3-0) allowed no hits and walked three to get the win.

The Bison trailed 4-0 heading to their half of the second inning, but scored three times with an RBI ground out by
Garrett McKee and a two-run single to left by
Brett Berghammer.

The Bison tied the game in the fifth when
Juan Gonzalez doubled and scored on a base hit by
Jake Gozzo.

The Tigers got a runner aboard in the top of the sixth but
Zane Gelphman made a big backhanded stop at third base and started a 5-4-3 double play with McKee making a strong pivot throw from second base.

With the bases full and two outs for the Bison in the bottom of the eighth, the Ouachita right fielder dropped a shallow fly ball and three runs scored. Gonzalez followed that with an RBI double for the final margin.

OBU had 10 hits in the win, led by Gonzalez with three and Berghammer and Gozzo with two each.

Now 8-2 overall and 3-0 in the Great American Conference, the Bison are slated to play at home Tuesday at 5 p.m. against Northeastern State before heading to Arkadelphia, Arkansas to resume conference action Friday and Saturday at Henderson State.
