SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist starts Great American Conference baseball with a three-game set at home against Ouachita Baptist, starting with a 1 p.m. doubleheader Saturday.
 
The Bison are 5-2 on the season and batting .413 as a team with 11 home runs and 78 RBIs in those seven games. Juan Gonzalez leads the Bison with a .542 batting average and 10 runs batted in. Garrett McKee is hitting .522 and Zane Gelphman leads the team with four home runs.
 
OBU's pitching staff sports a 4.91 earned run average. Zach Fowler (1-0, 4.50 ERA), Albertus Barber (2-0, 4.50) and Mychal Yarbor (0-1, 10.12) are lined up as possible starters for the series.
 
Ouachita Baptist enters the series at 3-6, hitting. 224 with a team earned run average of 4.27. Jakahari Howell leads the team with a .351 batting average while Tyler Riebock has two homers and nine RBIs.
 
Adam Bahloul (0-0, 0.96), John Franklin Matros (0-1, 1.80) and Tyler Duck (0-2, 4.66) appear to be arranged to start the series.
