SHAWNEE – Alec Young and
Michael Stewart were named Google Cloud Academic Division II Academic All-Americans, the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced Wednesday.
Â
Stewart, a junior defender from Broken Arrow, took home third-team honors for the second straight year. He boasts a 4.00 in Health and Human Performance. Stewart was OBU men's soccer's first-ever Division II Academic All-American last year, and is now the program's first-ever student-athlete to achieve the honor in consecutive seasons. He is also one of just three repeat All-Americans in all of Division II.
Â
Young, a senior forward from Shawnee, earned second-team honors in his final season on Bison Hill. He holds a 3.96 in Biochemistry. It is the first time in his career to be named to an Academic All-American team.
Â
The Bison led all Great American Conference schools, as well as the whole Central Region, in Academic All-Americans this year. Harding was the only other school to have an honoree this year.
